hey my name is Ellen and today let's learn how to play Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day special shout out goes out to my patrons for voting for this song and here's a quick overview of everything I'll be teaching in this video and with that being said let's get started alright guys so we have seven chords to play through this song and we're gonna start with our E minor which looks like this and sounds like this and by the way if you don't know how to read these chord charts you're seeing on screen check out my free beginner course right here the next chord is our G chord after that we have our D chord next is a we also have C Ord the last chord is our E minor major seven chord so go ahead and take some time to memorize these chord Shades as well as practice transitioning back and forth between them it'll make learning the rest of the song so much easier and once you've done that we can talk about strumming now the first thing I'd recommend doing is singing through the whole song and doing a single Downstream for each chord change and just take a mental note of what word or syllable you're singing whenever those chords are changing so here's a quick example walk along the road only one that I have ever known if you'd like to print out a guide with everything I'm teaching in this video make sure to check out the link below so a super simple way you could play through this entire song is with this strumming pattern right here so let's go ahead and go over the Rhythm alright guys so this is going to be an eighth note Rhythm and it's going to sound like this one two three four and one two three four and down down down down up down down down down just want to play it one time through from every single chord this applies for the entire song all right and this works for the chorus as well until then one two one two three four where it goes Wanna Have Fun jamming through the rest of the song with me so make sure to check out my patreon page where you can unlock access to this as well as all my other Fast Track and play along guitar tutorials I'll make sure to leave a link in the description box down below as well as in this icard right up here if you like this song you should definitely check out this video it's got a similar Vibe and it's just as fun to play so I'll see you over there
